For Lightronics, sustainability is an integral part of the way we develop products and work together. The EcoVadis Silver rating is proof that our efforts are paying off. This represents a big leap forward compared to last year, when we earned the Bronze medal.
EcoVadis is an international assessment platform that evaluates companies on sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Four key areas are scrutinised: the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
The assessment doesn’t just cover policy, but also how the organisation supports and implements its sustainability objectives. For customers and business partners, the EcoVadis rating serves as independent confirmation that, at Lightronics, sustainability is not only enshrined in policy but is also evident in practice.
The leap from Bronze to Silver is the outcome of numerous steps Lightronics implemented this past year. Our efforts involved refining policy documents and implementation strategies, but we didn’t stop there. Here are some of our key improvements.
We’re also making considerable headway in our efforts to reduce CO₂. Our targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Independently confirming that our climate goals align with the Paris Agreement.
What is the environmental impact of our luminaires? Making our products more sustainable depends on reliable data. Access to an increasing amount of data helps us evaluate the environmental impact of our luminaires with even greater accuracy (a process known as a Life Cycle Assessment). Our suppliers also provide us with an increasing amount of data for this very purpose. By working closely with our supply chain partners, we can boost our sustainability efforts.
