In Renesse in the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland in Zeeland, the PRUNUS A3 post-top luminaire was chosen for lighting the Tuin van Renesse, a park-like area between the transfer station and the village center. The use of the decorative LED ring fits in with the experience of the area: sun and beach.
De Tuin van Renesse is the first completed part of the Masterplan Renesse. The center area will undergo a complete facelift in the coming years. The lighting plan includes approximately 300 luminaires and will be largely completed with Lightronics' PRUNUS A3. Jan Dalebout, Public Space Manager, explains why.
Lineation and light image
"The municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland has had good experiences with Lightronics for years. We have luminaires that have been hanging for over twenty years. The PRUNUS we have previously applied in the district De Velden phase 2 in Zierikzee, without the LED ring. The beautiful lines and light image of the PRUNUS A3 fit in well with the design of the Tuin van Renesse and the aesthetic ideas of the architect. Finally, the favorable price-quality ratio made it only logical to include this luminaire in the tender."
Clear bowl Optics
The PRUNUS A3 has a clear light cover. The downward-shining LED light source is shielded with a clear bowl Optica, which prevents glare and light pollution. Due to the asymmetrical light distribution, the light only reaches where it is needed: on the path, not in the bushes. The correct light intensity and uniformity was achieved by installation company Nijkamp Aanneming with the installation of eighteen PRUNUS A3 luminaires with a set light intensity of 1600 lumens and a color temperature of 4000K. Because of social safety, and because this is the most optimal for camera surveillance in the residence area.
Luminext OLC
The choice for PRUNUS LED lighting brings the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland closer to the goals of the Energy and Climate Agreement. The energy reduction is less than 14 watts per luminaire, compared to 36 watts for the conventional lighting in the original situation around the transferium. Since three years the municipality uses Luminext OLC for the management of its public lighting. The Outdoor Lamp Controllers are also built into the PRUNUS A3 fixtures. "This makes it possible to control the dimming regime remotely and dynamically and to detect malfunctions quickly," concludes Dalebout.
